Metal on the Move

Having cemented their foothold in Robania after the Battle of Podan's Crossing and the seizure of Myransk, the Chergarian invasion- spread thin across a long offensive line and taking advantage of the Robanian's lack of preparedness- could finally reconsolidate and advanced in a more organized manner further into the country. Here, a squadron of AV-7-Ms from the 201st armored division roll out from Myransk to reinforce an assault on a Robanian defensive position- one that threatens to accommodate mortars that could provide a major balk to the Chergarian advance.

Though hardly a masterwork of modern engineering, the AV-7-M Mathis medium tank nonetheless formed the backbone of Chergarian armored forces in Robania. Weighing in at 28 tonnes and equipped with a 77mm gun, the Mathis was inexpensive, easily manufactured, and simple to maintain, and remained unchallenged by technical issues... that is, until, harsh winter bore down on the country during the war's later months. By then, however, the Mathis would have been succeeded by more advanced vehicles- although their successors would fail to prevent the eventual turning of the tide, they could at least operate without freezing.
