I like this. The idea is a nice twist on the city-as-overgrown-garden thing you see a lot, with actual greenery being a part of it and softening the shapes.
It might be interesting to see the plants swelling and cracking some of the buildings (kind of like a Nurgle space marine) if this is an idea you return to later.
